Repair of Single Family homes
The Mississippi Development Authority announces a new program specifically designed to assist low income Mississippians who require assistance repairing single-family homes that were damaged by Hurricane Katrina. The Neighborhood Home Program will provide up to $75,000 in assistance for the repair of storm related damage to target populations and those most in need of assistance.
Who is eligible to apply?
• Homeowners, including the elderly and disabled, who meet low income guidelines.
All applicants must meet State and Federal guidelines and pass an environmental review. Applicants must also pass a review of previously received Katrina funds and show a need to participate in the program.
What homes are eligible?
• You must have owned and occupied your home at the time of Katrina.
• You must currently own your home.
• You must have unrepaired Katrina related damage to a single family home.
• No new construction.
• Home must be in an eligible county.
This program provides repair assistance to the citizens of the following counties:
Harrison, Hancock, Jackson, Pearl River, Lamar, George, Stone, Forrest, Jones
