Mission: Hope Community Development Agency will leverage resources to build capacity and develop viable, affordable and stable neighborhoods.

Vision: Hope Community Development Agency will unite partners to create vibrant and sustainable communities.

The mission of Hope Community Development Agency (established in 2005 as the East Biloxi Coordination, Relief, and Redevelopment Agency) is to support the individuals, families, small businesses, and neighborhoods of Mississippi.

Hope CDA is incorporated as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, and, working in concert with community, faith-based and civic organizations, government officials, and private entities, it strives to ensure that the citizens it serves—regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or immigration status—achieve self-sufficiency and success in the economic mainstream of society.

Hope CDA pursues its mission by linking clients with direct services, coordinating planning for redevelopment efforts, providing architectural design and technical expertise, and facilitating private sector and community investment.

Situated at the eastern tip of a barrier sandspit in the Gulf of Mexico, largely minority and low-income, Hope’s community of East Biloxi was socially, economically, and physically exposed to Katrina in devastating fashion.

HOPE CDA has changed lives, including my own. They enabled us spread hope in Mississippi, but most of all let us have us hope to spread through Connecticut. I learned what it means to give back, and what it means to live with love. For all of this I am extremely grateful and proud.

    Forever and Always,

    Will (CT)

i need someone to point me in the right diretion. My mother has been living on a disability check (a little over (500mnth)that is truly not enough to support anyone. I am her only child but I cannot help her. my husband and 2 kids and I live in a small trailor and are trying to make ends meet for ourselves. So help from me is almost none.
SHe lives in a camper trailer in vancleave with no hot water and an old fashioned outhouse on pr0perty that isnt even in her name . Its actually a hunting camp for some of our distant relatives./ Its sad for me to tell but true. She hates to “impose”on our already cramped trailor and will never be able to rent or buy a home on her monthly disbility $check. My mohter was a stay at home mom and divorced from my dad several years ago.. SHe is living single with no help and no other financial income. She needs help and Icant just watch her spiral. I saw your ad on a commercial and was hoping someone could you please find out how I can help my mom or if there are agencies that could help people in her position?

    Hello Devon,

When reviewing the different options that might be applicable we suggest she call the District 228-868-2311 which is able to help what we assumed to be your elderly mother. Currently we are trying to find more resources up in Vancleave and the programs we have are grant based and therefore she would need to own her home. You might also try and organization called LIFE which is for disabled person and they might be able to help with making homes more accessible and referring disabled people to the appropriate agencies. Finally, 211 in the United Way Hot Line and they may know of more resources in Vancleave. Also we suggest she should get on Food Stamps if she is not and then through the local housing authorities she might find better senior housing. If you have any additional questions we suggest you call our office at 228-435-7180 and speak with case management.
